Remote MySQL®




Database at cPanel can be accessed remotely from another web server.  It is very useful when you want to give permission to application such as shopping carts or guestbooks from other servers to access database.

Allow Remote Server to Access Your Database.

To decide which remote server can have an access to MySQL Database at your server:

  1. In “Host” column, type host name or IP address.
    • You may input Fully Qualified domain Name (FQDN) or IP address.
    • You may use wildcard %.  In example, when you allow access from whole IP addresses which begin with 192.68.0, you can input 192.68.0.%
  2. Click Add Host.

Prevent Remote Server to Access Your Database

To prevent host accessing your databases:

  1. Click “X” icon to compatible host name or IP address.
  2. If you really to prevent the server to access your database, click Yes.
